If you’re like most professors I know, you’d like to keep up with technology, but you just don’t have the time to sit down and spend a few hours learning how to use a new application. We understand. Give us 40 minutes of your time on the 19th and we’ll get you up and running, so you can enjoy the productivity enhancement with minimal time investment.
There will be two sessions, one at 12 noon and one at 8 PM EDT, to accommodate the US, UK, and East Asia. The later session will focus on more advanced topics, while the earlier one is appropriate for folks with no prior experience. Please download and install Mendeley before the session so you’ll be able to ask your questions during the event.
We’ll discuss topics such as:
- What Mendeley is (and what it’s not)
- Writing grants & papers with Mendeley
- How Mendeley works with your existing information systems
- Organizing, sharing, and discovering research with Mendeley
- Mendeley’s role in the future of research
William Gunn, PhD & Head of Academic Outreach will be conducting this session. There will be plenty of time for questions after and during the session. Please download and install Mendeley before the session begins. If this time doesn’t work for you, please check out the session schedule below or see our events page for an event near you. We will put up a recording of the session afterwards, so check this post or our Youtube channel.

For those of us that are Jewish, 9/29 is Rosh Hashanah, one of our holiest days of the year so that I will not be able to attend the Mendeley session. There are probably others that would have a similar conflict. Will you have another session for librarians sometime in the future?
Hi Janice et al.,
Sorry about the unfortunate scheduling. We’ll block off that specific date on our calendar from now on and try harder to avoid such conflicts in the future. We plan to do these sessions approximately monthly, so keep an eye out for next month’s announcement. We will also make a recording available. In the meantime, you might want to take a look at the short videos we have available: http://www.youtube.com/user/mendeleyresearch and http://www.mendeley.com/videos-tutorials/
