Back to School 2015 Terms and Conditions

  1. To enter the Prize Draw, you must register a Back to School Event in the Mendeley Events System ( before midnight (GMT) on October 15, 2015.
  2. You must have a Mendeley account to enter. No alternate means of entry permitted. LIMIT ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON. Multiple event submissions, while not discouraged, will only count as a single entry into the prize draw.
  3. Although the Back to School event must be registered and approved in the Mendeley Events System by the deadline specified above, the event itself may take at any point before the end of the year 2015.
  4. Back to School Events will be approved according to the same standard applied to all Mendeley events. You should provide the necessary details required in the form when registering your event. If your event does not meet the usual standard at the time of review, the Mendeley Community team will alert you. Final reviews will be held at on October 15 2015. It is your responsibility to ensure that your event contains the necessary details by this point.
  5. Entrants are responsible for determining if the Promotion is legal in their jurisdiction of residence. Employees of Mendeley, their family members or anyone else connected with the competition are not eligible to enter. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.
  6. Five (5) winners will be chosen at random from all eligible entries on October 19, 2015. Winners will be notified via email how to claim the prize. Please ensure you are able to check the email address associated with your Mendeley account. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
  7. To receive your custom poster you will need to provide a suitable photo so that the artist can draw your picture. Our artist will produce one version based on the image you supply – please ensure it is clear and offers a good likeness. We reserve the right to reject unsuitable images.
  8. No cash alternative to the prize will be offered. The prize is not transferable. The winner is solely responsible for reporting and payment of any federal, state and local taxes and for compliance with all laws associated with the use of the prize.
  9. The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  10. Neither Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, nor its advertising or promotional agencies shall have any obligation, liability or responsibility for (1) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (2) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor that may cause the Promotion to be disrupted; (3) entries, prize claims or notifications that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient, in whole or in part.  Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any entry of any person tampering with or abusing the entry process, conduct of the Promotion or otherwise violating these Official Rules.  Sponsor further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Promotion if it cannot be completed as planned because of tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
  11. By entering the promotion, entrants release and hold harmless sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliated companies, and each of their directors, officers, employees, representatives, vendors, partners and agents, from any and all liability whatsoever, and waive any and all causes of action, for or related to any claims, costs, injuries, losses, liabilities, or damages of any kind (including, without limitation, personal injury, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light) arising out of or in connection with the promotion or the acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, whether under a theory of contract, warranty, tort (including, without limitation, negligence, whether active, passive, or imputed), strict liability, product liability, contribution, or any other theory, to the extent permitted by law.
  12. The construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without giving effect to its conflicts of law principles.
  13. The Sponsor is Mendeley Ltd whose registered office is at 3rd Floor, Alphabeta Building, 14-18 Finsbury Square, EC2A 1BR, London, United Kingdom.
